Evacuations have been ordered for a wildfire in the area near Reno that was burned by Septembers Davis Fire.
The Washoe County sheriff announced the order for the Callahan Fire around 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. The map above shows the affected area, along Mount Rose Highway east of the Montreux neighborhood. A 6-mile stretch of the highway is closed in both directions west of Interstate 580.
The fire is being driven by high winds that are sweeping the area as a winter storm arrives.

The Davis Fire, which started Sept. 7, burned almost 6,000 acres and forced the evacuation of residents along Mount Rose Highway.
